All persons except juveniles, seniors and full-time students are required to work to support themselves, unless they can afford not to. Union membership is encouraged to even the imbalance between an employer's power and resources and an individual worker's power and resources in the employment selection situation. Workplace agreements discouraged. Minimum hourly wage to be increased substantially. Additional employment conditions such as superannuation, worker's insurance etc to be simplified and standardised to minimise 'threshold of access' difficulties in offering and gaining new employment positions. Addenda and conditionals currently applying to public service employments, such as 'knowledge and commitment to EEO' etc, to be packaged into a single, simplified and standardised addendum to apply to all employment, public and private, in all of Australia. Persons suffering unemployment to be assisted with quality job seeking support and retraining if needed. Howard's odious anti-worker policies and punitive, degrading practices to be expunged and replaced by practicable, responsible practices which both help and respect the individual. Government to establish its own emmployment agency for recruitment of permanent and temporary workers.
