Australia needs a new political option.

The Liberals in their last stint in Federal office proved themselves elitist, out-of-touch, anti-democratic to the extent of being fascist. They are unlikely to be seen as a credible option long into the future; however, the ruthless Anglo-American quest for global financial hegemony * will doubtless again and again corrupt the democratic process to our disadvantage.

Labor in that time showed itself incompetent, unrepresentative, unable to rise above egos and internal conflicts, factionalism and branch level politics. The ALP lost many Federal elections because they were quite simply inadequate as an alternative. They didn't so much 'Win' the last election as the Liberals lost it.

Sadly, the Democrats have given up; sadly, the Nationals have not; and sadly, the Greens are unlikely to attract enough voters to win more than grudging trade-offs from either main party when in power.

These facts mean that Australians' democratic ability to rule themselves by elective choice has been eroded to the point of extinction.

NOBIS offers to fill this void. Our 'no bias, no baggage' platform is presented on the following pages.

Our philosophy has been to establish that which is best for the majority in each area and aim for that. In provision of all services we have carefully chosen 'what should be' - not 'this is what we can afford' or 'this is what the mug punters will stand for'.

We believe we should provide some things we can't afford - when our society can't afford not to have them. In education, health and other critical areas we must consider the less tangible matters of quality, need and future benefit above any immediate discomfort in funding them.

We know that systems as well as individuals become corrupt - law, banks, energy, public service and more need scrutiny and perhaps reformation.

On environment, we recognise the need to be innovative, proactive and even daring - a combination not forthcoming from the present or previous Governments.

The NOBIS philosophy of government, being based on 'Best Practises' that other governments do not practise, aims for excellence in administration of our society. Our egalitarian philosophies apply to other communities also; we hope that basics of the NOBIS ideal will be adopted by other nations to their benefit.
