Educating Australians to protect themselves by protecting the law! We are ordinary Members of the Australian Commonwealth, perhaps extraordinary through our sensitivity to the need for the true Rule of Law, keenly aware that Australia can only succeed and survive as a free and egalitarian society if its laws are honestly made, justly applied and protected from corruption. We observe almost daily instances of denial, corruption, curtailing and abrogation of our rights under the Australian Constitution and Common Law. Each time a new 'Rule' or 'practise' is introduced by Public Servants or Law Courts in place of legitimate Constitution-based ordinance, it is an opportunity to restrict us further, to establish greater control over our lives, to increase taxation without due authorisation, to conscript us and to diminish our liberties. Most of this passes unnoticed as it happens, thanks to the well-practised sleight of hand of its perpetrators. Our job is firstly to teach Australians what their rights in Law actually are, what the values of those rights are, and to advise them also of where their rights are being encroached upon and stolen, and by whom. Our second job is to identify these usually cunning and subtle con-jobs and sneak thefts, to expose them and to take appropriate steps to return integrity and the Rule of Law to our community and to the affairs of our lives. It is sad but true that the price of freedom is constant vigilance; and against these attacks - by our fellow Australians, mind - we need eyes and ears everywhere, we need technical skills to understand what is being done to us, we need resources to organise our efforts and we need the guts and determination to fight for our freedoms. The Community Law Association was founded by its President/CEO, Peter A Gargan, who became disillusioned enough during his Law Student days in the University of Queensland to reject formal qualification and induction into the thieves' kitchen of the Law Association, and to devote his life to exposing and correcting the abuse of Law and of our rights that he could see all around him, sanctioned and effected by Parliament, the Legal system, Corporatism and the Public Service. Peter's background includes farming and mining in Queensland, writing and political and environmental activism. Raised in the Atherton Tablelands, he now resides in Glebe, in inner Sydney. Peter is a grandfather, a regular churchgoer and an active participant in church affairs, and a tireless proponent of human rights. Community Law Association Secretary / Treasurer is Hugh O'Connor, a graduate in Economics from the National University of Ireland in his native Dublin, with postgraduate studies in Business Administration, Finance, Business Planning, Venture Capital, Marketing, OB, Management, Law & Communications. He migrated to Australia in 1973 and became a citizen in 1975. His background includes economic and market analysis, venture capital, organisational communications and journalism. He is an entrepreneur, a published author and has produced more than 80 websites. A life-long keen environmentalist, Hugh is at present establishing Planet Keeper, a body dedicated to enabling research based Earth management wisdom for the 21st Century. It is intended to replace the outdated and no longer relevant - but highly profitable - 'action' groups such as Greenpeace and Save the Earth that are now 40 and 50 years old. He is also the founder of NOBIS, a movement dedicated to modernising and 'hardening' the democratic process against corrupting influences. As mentioned before, we need volunteers to help us move this worthwhile project along. Participation is asked of every Australian, regardless of citizenship status, sex, race, creed or condition - after all, it’s everybody’s rights that are at risk here. If you wish to participate, first read through this website. Second, join up using the form on this website - ask about the benefits! Next, we suggest that you seek out two or more like-minded persons in your area and together form up a local Community Law Association chapter in alliance with the founding chapter in Glebe. Directions and documentation required to legally establish such a group will soon be available on this website. |
